Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that year on the occasion of the expedition of Tabuk. On this journey he (peace be upon him) used to combine two prayers. So he prayed Zuhr and Asr joined together, and Maghrib and Isha joined together. One day he (peace be upon him) delayed the prayer, then came out and prayed Zuhr and Asr joined, then went inside. Then after that he came out and prayed Maghrib and Isha joined. After that he said, "Tomorrow, if Allah the Exalted wills, you will reach the spring of Tabuk, and you will not reach it before the day has risen, and whoever of you goes to this spring, let him not touch its water until I come." Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then we reached this spring, and two men had reached there before us. The condition of the spring's water was that it was about equal to the strap of a sandal, and even that was flowing slowly. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked those two men, "Did you touch its water?" They said, "Yes," so he (peace be upon him) rebuked them (because they had acted against the command), and he (peace be upon him) told them what Allah the Exalted willed. Then the people gathered a little water, handful by handful, into a vessel, and he (peace be upon him) washed his hands and face in it, then poured that water back into the spring, and that spring gushed forth and began to flow, and the people began watering (their animals and themselves). After that he (peace be upon him) said, "O Mu'adh! If your life lasts, you will see that the water of this (spring) will fill the gardens." (This too was a great miracle of his (peace be upon him); in this army there were thirty thousand men, and in one narration seventy thousand men.)
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم غزوہ تبوک کے موقع پر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ اس سال نکلے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس سفر میں دو نمازوں کو جمع کرتے تھے۔ پس ظہر اور عصر دونوں ملا کر پڑھیں اور مغرب اور عشاء ملا کر پڑھیں۔ ایک دن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے نماز میں دیر کی۔ پھر نکلے اور ظہر اور عصر ملا کر پڑھیں پھر اندر چلے گئے۔ پھر اس کے بعد نکلے تو مغرب اور عشاء ملا کر پڑھیں اس کے بعد فرمایا کہ کل تم لوگ اگر اللہ تعالیٰ نے چاہا تو تبوک کے چشمے پر پہنچو گے اور دن نکلنے سے پہلے نہیں پہنچ سکو گے اور جو کوئی تم میں سے اس چشمے کے پاس جائے، تو اس کے پانی کو ہاتھ نہ لگائے جب تک میں نہ آؤں۔ سیدنا معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ پھر ہم اس چشمے پر پہنچے اور ہم سے پہلے وہاں دو آدمی پہنچ گئے تھے۔ چشمہ کے پانی کا یہ حال تھا کہ جوتی کے تسمہ کے برابر ہو گا، وہ بھی آہستہ آہستہ بہہ رہا تھا۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان دونوں آدمیوں سے پوچھا کہ تم نے اس کے پانی میں ہاتھ لگایا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہاں، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کو برا کہا (اس لئے کہ انہوں نے حکم کے خلاف کیا تھا) اور اللہ تعالیٰ کو جو منظور تھا وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کو سنایا۔ پھر لوگوں نے چلوؤں سے تھوڑا تھوڑا پانی ایک برتن میں جمع کیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اور منہ اس میں دھویا، پھر وہ پانی اس چشمہ میں ڈال دیا تو وہ چشمہ جوش مار کر بہنے لگا اور لوگوں نے (اپنے جانوروں اور آدمیوں کو) پانی پلانا شروع کیا۔ اس کے بعد آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے معاذ! اگر تیری زندگی رہی تو تو دیکھے گا کہ اس (چشمے) کا پانی باغوں کو بھر دے گا (یہ بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا ایک بڑا معجزہ تھا اس لشکر میں تیس ہزار آدمی تھے اور ایک روایت میں ہے کہ ستر ہزار آدمی تھے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1530]
