انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Rahman ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: "O Abd al-Rahman! Do not seek a position of authority, for if you are given it as a result of asking, you will be left to deal with it on your own. But if you are given it without asking, you will be helped in it."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عبدالرحمن بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمجھ سے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: اے عبدالرحمن! کسی عہدے اور حکومت کی درخواست مت کر، کیونکہ اگر درخواست سے تجھ کو (حکومت / عہدہ) ملا تو تو اسی کے سپرد کر دیا جائے گا اور جو بغیر سوال (درخواست) کے ملے، تو اللہ تعالیٰ تیری مدد کرے گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1202]
