Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the elders of his people that Abdullah bin Sahl and Muhayyisah (may Allah be pleased with them both) both went to Khaybar because of some hardship. Muhayyisah (may Allah be pleased with him) came and reported that Abdullah bin Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) had been killed and his corpse thrown into a spring or a well. He went to the Jews and said: "By Allah, you have killed him." The Jews said: "By Allah, we did not kill him." Then he came to his people and told them. Then Muhayyisah, and his brother Huwayyisah, who was older than him, and Abd ar-Rahman bin Sahl, the three of them came (to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him). Muhayyisah wished to speak, since he was the one who had gone (with Abdullah bin Sahl, may Allah be pleased with him) to Khaybar, but the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Muhayyisah: "Honor the elder and let the elder speak." Then Huwayyisah (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke, and then Muhayyisah spoke. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Muhayyisah (may Allah be pleased with him): "Either the Jews pay the blood-money for your companion, or they face war." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wrote to the Jews about this, and they wrote in reply: "By Allah, we did not kill him." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Huwayyisah, Muhayyisah, and Abd ar-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with them): "Will you swear an oath to establish your claim of retaliation for your companion?" They said: "No." He said: "Then the Jews will swear an oath for you." They said: "They are not Muslims; what value is their oath?" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) paid the blood-money from his own wealth and sent a hundred camels to them, and they were brought into their house. Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "One of them, a red she-camel, kicked me." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1034]
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا سہل بن ابی حثمہ رضی اللہ عنہ اپنی قوم کے بڑے لوگوں سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہسیدنا عبداللہ بن سہل اور محیصہ رضی اللہ عنہما دونوں کسی تکلیف کی وجہ سے خیبر گئے محیصہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے آ کر بتایا کہ عبداللہ بن سہل رضی اللہ عنہ مارے گئے اور ان کی نعش چشمہ یا کنواں میں پھینک دی گئی ہے۔ وہ یہود کے پاس آئے اور کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم تم نے ان کو قتل کیا ہے۔ یہودیوں نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم ہم نے انہیں قتل نہیں کیا۔ پھر وہ اپنی قوم کے پاس آئے اور ان سے بیان کیا۔ پھر محیصہ اور ان کا بھائی حویصہ جو ان سے بڑا تھا اور عبدالرحمن بن سہل تینوں (رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس) آئے۔ محیصہ نے بات کرنا چاہا کہ وہی (عبداللہ بن سہل رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ) خیبر کو گئے تھے، تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے محیصہ سے فرمایا کہ بڑے کی بڑائی کر اور بڑے کو کہنے دے۔ پھر حویصہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بات کی اور پھر محیصہ نے بات کی۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے محیصہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا کہ یا تو یہود تمہارے ساتھی کی دیت دیں یا جنگ کریں۔ پھر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہود کو اس بارے میں لکھا تو انہوں نے جواب میں لکھا کہ اللہ کی قسم ہم نے اس کو قتل نہیں کیا تب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے حویصہ، محیصہ اور عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہما سے فرمایا کہ تم قسم کھاتے ہو کہ اپنے ساتھی کا قصاص لو؟ انہوں نے کہا نہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ پھر یہود تمہارے لئے قسم کھائیں گے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ مسلمان نہیں (ان کی) قسم کا کیا اعتبار۔ پھر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس کی دیت اپنے پاس سے دی اور سو اونٹ ان کے پاس بھیجے یہاں تک کہ ان کے گھر میں پہنچا دیئے گئے۔ سیدنا سہل رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ان میں سے ایک سرخ اونٹنی نے مجھے لات مار دی تھی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1034]
