وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ وَلَكِنَّ الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفس»مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Amr ibn Awf al-Ansari reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sent Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah to Bahrain to collect its jizyah. When he brought it, the Ansar heard about his arrival and came to pray the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (peace be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) finished the prayer and was about to leave, they presented themselves before him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) smiled when he saw them and said: "I think you have heard that Abu Ubaydah has returned with something." They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Then rejoice, and hope for what will please you. By Allah, it is not poverty that I fear for you, but I fear that the world will be spread out before you as it was spread out before those who came before you, and you will compete for it as they competed for it, and it will destroy you as it destroyed them." Agreed upon.
اردو ترجمہ
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”مال داری، مال اور سازو سامان کی کثرت سے حاصل نہیں ہوتی، بلکہ مال داری تو نفس کی مال داری (یعنی قناعت) ہے۔“متفق علیہ۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب الرقاق/حدیث: 5170]
