وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: جِيءَ بِسَارِقٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «اقْطَعُوهُ» فَقُطِعَ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِهِ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ: «اقْطَعُوهُ» فَقُطِعَ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِهِ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ: «اقْطَعُوهُ» فَقُطِعَ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِهِ الرَّابِعَةَ فَقَالَ: «اقْطَعُوهُ» فَقُطِعَ فَأُتِيَ بِهِ الْخَامِسَةَ فَقَالَ: «اقْتُلُوهُ» فَانْطَلَقْنَا بِهِ فَقَتَلْنَاهُ ثُمَّ اجْتَرَرْنَاهُ فَأَلْقَيْنَاهُ فِي بِئْرٍ وَرَمَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الحجارةَ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وَالنَّسَائِيّ وَرُوِيَ فِي شَرْحِ السُّنَّةِ فِي قَطْعِ السَّارِقِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اقْطَعُوهُ ثمَّ احسموه»
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Jabir told that a thief was brought to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and he said, "Maim him,* so this was done. He was brought a second time and he said, "Maim him,” so this was done. He was brought a third time and he said, "Maim him,” so this was done. He was brought a fourth time and he said, "Maim him,” so this was done. He was brought a fifth time and he said, "Kill him,” so they took him away and killed him. They then dragged him and cast him into a well and threw stones over him. Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it. In Sharh as-sunna the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is reported as saying regarding the maiming of a thief, "Maim him, then cauterise him." * Where there has been one offence I have translated 'cut off the hand’, but here, where the verb 'to cut off’ is used without an object, I have found it more convenient to use a general word. In the previous tradition the hands and feet were mentioned in the Arabic.
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس ایک چور لایا گیا، آپ نے فرمایا: اس کا ہاتھ کاٹو، تو کاٹ دیا گیا۔ پھر دوسری مرتبہ لایا گیا تو فرمایا: اس کا پاؤں کاٹو، تو کاٹ دیا گیا۔ پھر تیسری مرتبہ لایا گیا تو فرمایا: کاٹو، تو کاٹ دیا گیا۔ پھر چوتھی مرتبہ لایا گیا تو فرمایا: کاٹو، تو کاٹ دیا گیا۔ پھر پانچویں مرتبہ لایا گیا تو فرمایا: اسے قتل کرو۔ پس ہم اسے لے گئے اور قتل کر دیا، پھر گھسیٹ کر ایک کنویں میں ڈال دیا اور اس پر پتھر مارے۔ ابو داؤد اور نسائی نے اسے روایت کیا۔ اور شرح السنۃ میں چور کے ہاتھ کاٹنے کے بارے میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے مروی ہے: کاٹو پھر داغو۔
