أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ انْطَلَقَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي رَهْطٍ قِبَلَ ابْنَ صَيَّادٍ حَتَّى وَجَدُوهُ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ عِنْدَ أُطُمِ بَنِي مَغَالَةَ وَقَدْ قَارَبَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحُلُمَ فَلَمْ يَشْعُرْ حَتَّى ضَرَبَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ ظَهْرَهُ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لِابْنِ صَيَّادٍ «أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ؟ » فَقَالَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَرَفَصَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَ «آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَبِرَسُولِهِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ «مَاذَا تَرَى؟ » قَالَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ يَأْتِينِي صَادِقٌ وَكَاذِبٌ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خُلِطَ عَلَيْكَ الْأَمْرُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَبَّأْتُ لَكَ خَبْأً» فَقَالَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ هُوَ الدُّخُّ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اخْسَأْ فَلَنْ تَعْدُوَ قَدْرَكَ» فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ دَعْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَضْرِبْ عُنُقَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ «إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهُ فَلَنْ تُسَلَّطَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ لَمْ تُدْرِكْهُ فَلَا خَيْرَ لَكَ فِي قَتْلِهِ»
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Qutaybah informed us, Harmalah ibn Yahya narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Yunus informed us from Ibn Shihab that Salim ibn Abdullah informed him that Ibn Umar informed him that Umar went with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in a group toward Ibn Sayyad until they found him playing with the boys near the fortress of Banu Maghalah. Ibn Sayyad was close to puberty at that time. He did not sense them until the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) patted his back with his hand, then the Messenger of Allah said to Ibn Sayyad: "Do you testify that I am the Messenger of Allah?" Ibn Sayyad said: "Do you testify that I am the messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah dismissed him and said: "I believe in Allah and His Messenger." Then the Messenger of Allah said to him: "What do you see?" Ibn Sayyad said: "A truthful one and a liar come to me." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him: "The matter is confused for you." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him: "I have hidden something for you." Ibn Sayyad said: "It is al-Dukh." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him: "Be gone! You will not exceed your measure." Umar ibn al-Khattab said to him: "Let me, O Messenger of Allah, strike his neck." The Messenger of Allah said to him: "If he is the one, you will not have power over him, and if he is not, there is no good for you in killing him."
