Imran ibn Musa ibn Mujashi' informed us, Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed me, Amr ibn Shu'ayb narrated to me, I heard him say from my father from my grandfather that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The Dajjal will emerge in my ummah and remain for forty" - I do not know whether he said forty days or forty months or forty years. "Then Allah will send Isa ibn Maryam as if he is Urwah ibn Mas'ud, and he will search for him and destroy him. Then people will remain for seven years in which there will be no enmity between any two people. Then Allah will send a cold wind from the direction of Syria which will not leave anyone on the face of the earth with even an atom's weight of good or faith in his heart except that it will take him. Even if one of you were to enter the interior of a mountain, it would enter upon him until it takes him." He said: I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who said: "Only the worst of people will remain, light as birds, with the dispositions of beasts. They will not recognize good nor forbid evil. Satan will come to them and say: Will you not respond? They will say: What do you command us? He will command them to worship idols, and while they are in that state, with good provision and good living, the Trumpet will be blown."
