Abu Ya'la from his book informed us, Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to us from his father from Abdullah ibn Amr who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from people, but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars with their knowledge. When no scholar remains, people will take ignorant leaders who will be asked and will give verdicts without knowledge, thus they will go astray and lead others astray."
