Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ubayd ibn Fayyad in Damascus informed us, Hisham ibn Ammar narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, Abdullah ibn al-Ala' ibn Zabr narrated to me that he heard Busr ibn Ubaydullah narrating from Abu Idris al-Khawlani from Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the expedition of Tabuk while he was in a tent of leather. I sat in the courtyard of the tent and greeted him, and he returned the greeting. Then he said: "Enter, O Awf." I said: "All of me?" He said: "All of you." So I entered and found him performing ablution, a thorough ablution. Then he said: "O Awf, remember six things before the Hour: one of them is my death." Awf said: I was deeply grieved at that. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Say: 'One.'" So I said: "One." Then he said: "The conquest of Jerusalem, then a disease will appear among you, then the abundance of wealth among you until a man among you is given a hundred dinars and remains dissatisfied, then a tribulation will occur among you until there remains no believing household except it enters it, then a truce between you and the Romans (Banu al-Asfar), then they will betray you and march against you with eighty banners, under each banner twelve thousand."
