Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Muthanna informed us, he said: Muhammad ibn Hatim ibn Bazi' narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Harun informed us, he said: Isra'il informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from Amr ibn Maymun, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, that a man came to him and said: I left the imam today, and he recited such-and-such and such-and-such surahs in one rak'ah. Abdullah said: 'Rapid recitation like the recitation of poetry? Indeed, we used to know them as groups that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite together in one rak'ah.'
