Hadrat Abu Barzah al-Aslami (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated the story of Julaybib, who was a man from the Ansar who used to visit women and talk with them. Abu Barzah said: I told my wife not to let Julaybib enter upon them. The Companions of the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), whenever any of them had an unmarried daughter, would not marry her off until they knew whether the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) had any interest in her. One day, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to a man from the Ansar: "O so-and-so, marry your daughter to me." He said: "Yes, and with pleasure, O Messenger of Allah!" He stated: "I do not want her for myself." The man asked: "Then for whom?" He stated: "For Julaybib." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah, let me consult her mother." He went to her and said: "The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is proposing your daughter." She said: "Yes, and with pleasure." He said: "He does not want her for himself." She asked: "Then for whom?" He said: "For Julaybib." She said: "For Julaybib? No, by Allah, I will not marry Julaybib!" When the father was about to go to the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), the girl spoke from behind her curtain and said to her mother: "Who proposed to me?" They said: "The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)." She said: "Are you going to reject the command of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)? Give me to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), for he will never let me be lost." So her father went to the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: "It is your decision." So he married her to Julaybib. He prayed for them: "O Allah, pour goodness upon them and do not make their life difficult." Then, while the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was in a battle, he stated: "Do you notice anyone missing?" They said: "No." He stated: "But I miss Julaybib. Search for him among the slain." They found him beside seven whom he had killed before they killed him. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "He killed seven and then they killed him? He is of me and I am of him" — saying it seven times. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) placed him on his blessed forearms — he had no bier except the forearms of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — until he was placed in his grave. Thabit said: There was no unmarried woman among the Ansar more sought after than her.
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابوبرزہ اسلمی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے جلیبیب کا واقعہ مروی ہے جو انصار میں سے ایک آدمی تھے اور عورتوں کے پاس آتے اور ان سے باتیں کرتے تھے۔ ابوبرزہ نے فرمایا: میں نے اپنی بیوی سے کہا کہ جلیبیب کو تمہارے پاس نہ آنے دینا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صحابہ کا طریقہ تھا کہ جب ان میں سے کسی کی بیٹی بے نکاحی ہوتی تو اسے نکاح نہ دیتے جب تک یہ معلوم نہ ہو جاتا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو اس میں کوئی حاجت ہے یا نہیں۔ ایک دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک انصاری سے ارشاد فرمایا: «اے فلاں! اپنی بیٹی میرے نکاح میں دے دو۔» اس نے عرض کیا: جی ہاں، اور آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «میں اپنے لیے نہیں چاہتا۔» اس نے عرض کیا: پھر کس کے لیے؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «جلیبیب کے لیے۔» اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اس کی ماں سے مشورہ کر لوں۔ وہ اپنی بیوی کے پاس آیا اور کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تمہاری بیٹی کا پیغام بھیج رہے ہیں۔ اس نے کہا: جی ہاں، اور آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک۔ اس نے کہا: آپ اپنے لیے نہیں چاہتے۔ اس نے پوچھا: پھر کس کے لیے؟ اس نے کہا: جلیبیب کے لیے۔ اس نے کہا: حلق! جلیبیب کے لیے؟ نہیں، خدا کی قسم! میں جلیبیب سے نکاح نہیں دوں گی۔ جب اس کے والد نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس جانے لگے تو لڑکی نے اپنے پردے سے اپنی ماں سے کہا: میرا رشتہ کس نے مانگا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے۔ اس نے کہا: کیا تم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا حکم رد کرتے ہو؟ مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے سپرد کر دو، وہ مجھے ضائع نہیں کریں گے۔ تو اس کے والد نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس گئے اور عرض کیا: آپ کا فیصلہ ہے۔ تو آپ نے اسے جلیبیب سے نکاح دے دیا۔ آپ نے ان کے لیے دعا فرمائی: «اے اللہ! ان پر خیر کی بارش فرما اور ان کی زندگی کو مشکل نہ بنا۔» پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ایک غزوہ میں تھے تو ارشاد فرمایا: «کیا تمہیں کوئی نظر نہیں آ رہا؟» لوگوں نے عرض کیا: نہیں۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «لیکن مجھے جلیبیب نظر نہیں آ رہا، انہیں مقتولین میں تلاش کرو۔» انہوں نے انہیں سات مشرکوں کے پاس پایا جنہیں انہوں نے قتل کیا تھا پھر وہ خود شہید ہو گئے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «اس نے سات کو قتل کیا پھر انہوں نے اسے قتل کیا؟ یہ مجھ سے ہے اور میں اس سے ہوں» — یہ سات بار ارشاد فرمایا۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں اپنے بازوؤں پر رکھا — ان کا کوئی جنازہ نہیں تھا سوائے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے بازوؤں کے — یہاں تک کہ انہیں قبر میں رکھ دیا۔ ثابت نے فرمایا: انصار میں اس سے زیادہ مانگ والی کوئی بیوہ نہیں تھی۔
