Khabbab ibn al-Aratt reported: We came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he was using his cloak as a pillow in the shade of the Ka'bah. We had suffered severely at the hands of the polytheists. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will you not supplicate to Allah for us?' He sat up, angry, his face reddened, and he said: 'Among those before you, a man would be placed in a pit dug for him, then a saw would be brought and placed on his head and he would be cut in two, yet that would not turn him away from his religion. They would comb him with iron combs beneath his flesh and bones, yet that would not turn him away from his religion. By Allah, this matter will be completed until a rider travels from Sana'a to Hadramawt fearing none but Allah or the wolf for his sheep. But you are hasty.'
