Narrated Aisha as-Siddiqah, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to drink honey in the house of Zaynab bint Jahsh, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), and (for that reason) he used to stay there a long while. So I and Hafsah, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), agreed between ourselves that whichever of us the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to would say, "Have you eaten maghafir? I smell its odour from your mouth." (So when he (peace be upon him) came, we did just that.) He (peace be upon him) said, "No, I drank honey in the house of Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), and now I swear that I will never drink honey again; do not tell anyone."
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمام المؤمنین زینب بنت حجش رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر میں شہد نوش فرمایا کرتے تھے اور (اسی واسطے) وہاں بہت دیر ٹھہرتے تھے تو میں نے اور ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے آپس میں اتفاق کیا کہ ہم میں سے جس کے پاس نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآئیں وہ یہ کہے کہ آپ نے مغافیر کھایا ہے؟ مجھے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے منہ سے اس کی بدبو آتی ہے۔ (چنانچہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتشریف لائے تو ہم نے ایسا ہی کیا) آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”نہیں میں نے زینب (رضی اللہ عنہا) کے گھر سے شہد پیا ہے اور اب میں قسم کھاتا ہوں کہ کبھی شہد نہ پیوں گا، تم کسی سے کہنا نہیں۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1793]
