Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): A man asked him, "What do you say about the discord and fighting that is happening these days?" He said, "What do you know of what tribulation (fitnah) is? The truth is that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to fight the polytheists, and if a Muslim went among the polytheists he would fall into trial. And they did not fight for the sake of kingdom (rulership) as you do (rather they fought purely for the sake of religion)."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے ایک شخص نے پوچھا کہیہ جو آج کل فتنہ اور لڑائی ہو رہی ہے، اس کے بارے میں آپ کیا کہتے ہیں؟ تو انھوں نے کہا کہ تو کیا جانے کہ فتنہ کسے کہتے ہیں، حقیقت یہ ہے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممشرکوں سے لڑتے تھے اور مشرکوں کے پاس کوئی مسلمان جاتا تو فتنہ میں پڑ جاتا اور وہ تمہاری طرح ملک (بادشاہت) کے لیے نہ لڑتے تھے (بلکہ محض دین پر لڑتے تھے)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1745]
