انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) besieged Taif and could not achieve anything — rather, the Muslims suffered losses — he finally said: "We shall return to Madinah, God willing." The Companions found this hard and said: "Shall we leave without conquering it?" The Prophet said: "Then fight in the morning." They fought and were wounded. The Prophet said: "Tomorrow, God willing, we shall return." This time they were pleased. The Prophet smiled at this.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہجب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے طائف کا محاصرہ کیا اور ان کا کچھ نقصان نہ کیا (بلکہ الٹا مسلمانوں کا نقصان ہوا) آخر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”ہم انشاءاللہ (اب) مدینہ کو لوٹ چلیں گے۔“صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم کو یہ شاق معلوم ہوا اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم بغیر فتح کیونکر لوٹ چلیں؟“ایک دفعہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”ہم لوٹ جائیں گے۔“پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”(اچھا) کل صبح لڑو۔“صبح ہوئی تو وہ سب لڑے اور زخمی ہو گئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”کل انشاءاللہ ہم واپس چلیں گے۔“اس وقت انھیں یہ بات اچھی معلوم ہوئی۔ پس نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسکرا دیے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1669]
