Hadrat al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be well pleased with them both) says: 'The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) delivered the sermon on the day of Eid al-Adha after the prayer and stated: Whoever prayed as we prayed and sacrificed as we sacrificed, his sacrifice is valid. And whoever sacrificed before the prayer, it was before the prayer and counts as no sacrifice. Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be well pleased with him), the maternal uncle of al-Bara', submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! I sacrificed my sheep before the prayer and I knew that today is a day of eating and drinking. I wanted my sheep to be the first slaughtered in my house, so I slaughtered it and had my meal before coming for the prayer. He stated: Your sheep is merely a sheep for meat (not a sacrifice). He submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! We have a year-old she-goat (Anaq Jadha'ah) that is dearer to me than two sheep — will it suffice on my behalf? He stated: Yes, but it will not suffice for anyone after you.'
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت براء بن عازب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے عیدالاضحیٰ کے دن نماز کے بعد خطبہ دیا اور ارشاد فرمایا: جس نے ہماری طرح نماز پڑھی اور ہماری طرح قربانی کی اس نے (صحیح) قربانی کی، اور جس نے نماز سے پہلے ذبح کیا تو وہ نماز سے پہلے ہوا اور اس کی کوئی قربانی نہیں۔ حضرت ابوبردہ بن نیار رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ (جو حضرت براء کے ماموں ہیں) نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں نے اپنی بکری نماز سے پہلے ذبح کر لی تھی اور مجھے معلوم تھا کہ آج کھانے پینے کا دن ہے، میں نے چاہا کہ میری بکری میرے گھر میں سب سے پہلے ذبح ہونے والی ہو، تو میں نے ذبح کر لی اور نماز سے پہلے ہی کھانا کھا لیا۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: تمہاری بکری تو محض گوشت کی بکری ہے (قربانی نہیں)۔ اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمارے پاس ایک سال کا بکری کا بچہ (عناق جذعہ) ہے جو مجھے دو بکریوں سے زیادہ پیاری ہے، کیا وہ میری طرف سے کافی ہو جائے گی؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں، لیکن تمہارے بعد کسی اور کے لیے کافی نہیں ہوگی۔
