حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ كَرِهَهَا، فَلَمَّا أُكْثِرَ عَلَيْهِ غَضِبَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلنَّاسِ " سَلُونِي عَمَّا شِئْتُمْ ". قَالَ رَجُلٌ مَنْ أَبِي قَالَ " أَبُوكَ حُذَافَةُ ". فَقَامَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَبِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ " أَبُوكَ سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى شَيْبَةَ ". فَلَمَّا رَأَى عُمَرُ مَا فِي وَجْهِهِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا نَتُوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Abu Musa (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was asked about things that he did not approve of. When such questions became excessive, he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) became angry. Then he declared to the people: Ask me whatever you wish. A man submitted: Who is my father? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Your father is Hudhafa. Another man stood and submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who is my father? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Your father is Salim, the freed slave of Shayba. Finally, Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) saw the state of his blessed countenance and submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! We repent to Allah the Exalted (from asking questions that displease you).
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے کچھ ایسی باتیں پوچھی گئیں جو آپ کو ناگوار ہوئیں۔ جب اس قسم کے سوالات کی بہت زیادتی ہوئی تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو غصہ آ گیا۔ پھر آپ نے لوگوں سے ارشاد فرمایا: مجھ سے جو چاہو پوچھو۔ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: میرا باپ کون ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تیرا باپ حُذافہ ہے۔ دوسرا شخص کھڑا ہوا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میرا باپ کون ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تیرا باپ سالم ہے، شیبہ کا آزاد کردہ غلام۔ آخر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے آپ کے چہرۂ انور کا حال دیکھا تو عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم (ان سوالات سے جو آپ کو ناگوار ہوں) اللہ تعالیٰ سے توبہ کرتے ہیں۔
