Yusuf ibn Musa narrated to me, Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Allah will say: O Adam! He will say: At Your service, and all good is in Your Hands. He will say: Bring out the contingent of the Fire. He will say: What is the contingent of the Fire? He will say: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine. That is when the child will turn gray, and every pregnant woman will drop her burden, and you will see people appearing intoxicated though they are not intoxicated, but the punishment of Allah is severe." This was hard upon them, so they submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who among us is that one person? He stated: "Rejoice! From Ya'juj and Ma'juj will be a thousand, and from you, one." Then he said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I hope that you will be a third of the people of Paradise." He said: We praised Allah and said Allahu Akbar. Then he stated: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise. Indeed your likeness among the nations is like a white hair on the hide of a black bull, or a mark on the foreleg of a donkey."

مجھ سے یوسف بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا، ہم سے جریر نے بیان کیا، اعمش سے، ابو صالح سے، حضرت ابو سعید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائے گا: اے آدم! وہ عرض کریں گے: لبیک وسعدیک، والخیر فی یدیک (حاضر ہوں، اور ساری بھلائی تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے)۔ فرمائے گا: آگ کا حصہ نکال۔ وہ عرض کریں گے: آگ کا حصہ کتنا ہے؟ فرمائے گا: ہر ہزار میں سے نو سو ننانوے۔ یہ وہ وقت ہو گا جب چھوٹا بچہ بوڑھا ہو جائے گا اور ہر حاملہ اپنا حمل ڈال دے گی اور تو لوگوں کو مدہوش دیکھے گا حالانکہ وہ نشے میں نہ ہوں گے لیکن اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہو گا۔" یہ سن کر صحابہ پر بہت سختی ہوئی اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم میں سے وہ (ایک) شخص کون ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: "خوش ہو جاؤ! یاجوج ماجوج میں سے ہزار ہیں اور تم میں سے ایک۔" پھر فرمایا: "اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم جنت والوں کا تہائی ہو۔" فرمایا: ہم نے اللہ کی حمد بیان کی اور اللہ اکبر کہا۔ پھر فرمایا: "اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم جنت والوں کا آدھا ہو گے، تمہاری مثال اُمتوں میں ایسی ہے جیسے کالے بیل کی کھال میں سفید بال یا گدھے کے بازو پر نشان۔"
