Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that Hadrat Ali al-Murtada (may Allah ennoble his countenance) sent a small piece of gold in an untanned leather pouch, still mixed with its earth, from Yemen to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) distributed it among four men: Uyayna bin Badr, Aqra' bin Habis, Hadrat Zaid al-Khail, and the fourth was either Alqama or Amir bin at-Tufail. One of his Companions submitted, 'We were more deserving of this than them.' When this reached the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), he declared, 'Do you not trust me, while I am the trustee of the One above the heavens? The news of the heavens comes to me morning and evening.' Then a man stood up with sunken eyes, raised cheekbones, a protruding forehead, a thick beard, a shaved head, and a tucked-up lower garment. He said, 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Fear Allah!' The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, 'Woe to you! Am I not the most God-fearing person on the face of the earth?' The man turned away. Hadrat Khalid bin al-Walid (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted, 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Shall I strike his neck?' He declared, 'No, perhaps he performs prayers.' Hadrat Khalid (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted, 'Many are those who pray yet say with their tongues what is not in their hearts.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, 'I have not been commanded to search people's hearts or cut open their bellies.' Then he looked at the man as he walked away and declared, 'From the progeny of this man will emerge a people who will recite the Book of Allah fluently, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its prey.' I believe he also declared, 'If I find them, I will slay them as the people of Thamud were slain.'
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم نے یمن سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں ایک چھوٹا سا سونے کا ٹکڑا دبی ہوئی چمڑے کی تھیلی میں بھیجا جو ابھی مٹی سے صاف نہیں کیا گیا تھا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اسے چار آدمیوں میں تقسیم فرمایا: عیینہ بن بدر، اقرع بن حابس، زید الخیل، اور چوتھے علقمہ یا عامر بن طفیل تھے۔ صحابہ میں سے ایک شخص نے کہا: ہم ان سے زیادہ اس کے حقدار تھے۔ یہ بات نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تک پہنچی تو ارشاد فرمایا: کیا تم مجھ پر اعتماد نہیں کرتے حالانکہ میں آسمان والے کا امین ہوں؟ صبح و شام مجھے آسمان کی خبر آتی ہے۔ اتنے میں ایک شخص کھڑا ہوا جس کی آنکھیں اندر دھنسی ہوئی تھیں، رخسار اونچے تھے، پیشانی ابھری ہوئی تھی، داڑھی گھنی تھی، سر منڈا ہوا تھا اور تہبند چڑھا ہوا تھا۔ اس نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ سے ڈریں! حضور صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تجھ پر افسوس! کیا میں روئے زمین پر سب سے زیادہ اللہ سے ڈرنے والا نہیں ہوں؟ وہ شخص واپس مڑا۔ حضرت خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا میں اس کی گردن نہ مار دوں؟ ارشاد فرمایا: نہیں، شاید وہ نماز پڑھتا ہو۔ حضرت خالد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: بہت سے نمازی ایسے ہیں جو زبان سے وہ کہتے ہیں جو دل میں نہیں ہوتا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مجھے لوگوں کے دلوں میں جھانکنے اور پیٹ چیرنے کا حکم نہیں دیا گیا۔ پھر اس شخص کو جاتے ہوئے دیکھا اور ارشاد فرمایا: اس کی نسل سے ایسی قوم نکلے گی جو اللہ کی کتاب تازہ تازہ پڑھے گی لیکن وہ ان کے حلق سے نیچے نہیں اترے گی۔ وہ دین سے ایسے نکل جائیں گے جیسے تیر شکار سے نکل جاتا ہے۔ میرا گمان ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے یہ بھی ارشاد فرمایا: اگر میں انہیں پا لوں تو ثمود کی طرح قتل کروں گا۔
