Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Hammam ibn Munabbih, from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'A prophet among the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)s went out on a military expedition and said to his people: No man shall follow me who has married a woman and intends to consummate the marriage but has not yet done so; nor anyone who has built houses but has not raised their roofs; nor anyone who has purchased sheep or pregnant she-camels and is awaiting their offspring. So he went on the expedition, and he drew near the town around the time of the 'Asr prayer or close to it. He said to the sun: You are commanded and I am commanded. O Allah, hold it back for us. So the sun was held back until Allah granted him victory. Then he gathered the spoils of war, and the fire came to consume them but did not. He said: There is treachery among you; let one man from every tribe pledge allegiance to me. A man's hand stuck to his hand, and he said: The treachery is in your tribe; let your tribe pledge allegiance to me. The hands of two or three men stuck to his hand, and he said: The treachery is among you. They brought a piece of gold the size of a cow's head and placed it down. The fire came and consumed it. Then Allah made the spoils of war lawful for us. He saw our weakness and inability, so He made them lawful for us.'

ہم سے محمد بن العلاء نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن المبارک نے بیان کیا، معمر سے، انہوں نے ہمام بن منبہ سے، انہوں نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، انہوں نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: انبیاء میں سے ایک نبی نے غزوہ کیا اور اپنی قوم سے فرمایا: کوئی شخص میرے پیچھے نہ آئے جس نے کسی عورت سے نکاح کیا ہو اور رخصتی کا ارادہ رکھتا ہو مگر ابھی رخصتی نہ ہوئی ہو، نہ وہ شخص جس نے مکان بنائے ہوں مگر ان کی چھتیں نہ اٹھائی ہوں، اور نہ وہ جس نے بکریاں یا حاملہ اونٹنیاں خریدی ہوں اور ان کے بچھڑوں کا انتظار کر رہا ہو۔ پھر وہ نبی جہاد کو گئے اور عصر کی نماز کے وقت یا اس کے قریب اس بستی کے قریب پہنچے تو سورج سے کہا: تو مامور ہے اور میں بھی مامور ہوں، اے اللہ! اسے ہمارے لیے روک دے۔ تو سورج روک دیا گیا یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فتح عطا فرمائی۔ پھر انہوں نے مالِ غنیمت جمع کیا، تو آگ آئی تاکہ اسے کھائے لیکن اس نے نہیں کھایا۔ تو اس نبی نے فرمایا: تم میں خیانت ہے، ہر قبیلے سے ایک آدمی مجھ سے بیعت کرے۔ تو ایک شخص کا ہاتھ ان کے ہاتھ سے چپک گیا۔ فرمایا: تمہارے (قبیلے) میں خیانت ہے، تمہارا قبیلہ مجھ سے بیعت کرے۔ تو دو یا تین آدمیوں کے ہاتھ ان کے ہاتھ سے چپک گئے۔ فرمایا: تم لوگوں میں خیانت ہے۔ وہ لوگ سونے کا بیل کے سر جیسا ایک ٹکڑا لے کر آئے اور اسے رکھا۔ آگ آئی اور اسے کھا گئی۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمارے لیے مالِ غنیمت حلال فرمایا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہماری کمزوری اور عاجزی دیکھی تو ہمارے لیے حلال فرمایا۔
