It is narrated by Hadrat Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Hadrat Talha that he heard Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) say: Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) was the wealthiest among the Ansar in Madinah in terms of date-palm gardens. The most beloved of his properties to him was the garden of Bairuha, which was situated directly in front of the Noble Prophet's Mosque. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to visit it and drink from its sweet water. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: When this verse was revealed — 'You shall never attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love' (3:92) — Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted, 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Allah the Blessed, the Most High says: You shall never attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love. And the most beloved of my properties to me is the garden of Bairuha. Therefore, I give it in charity for the sake of Allah. I hope for its goodness and its being stored as a treasure with Allah. O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Dispose of it wherever Allah shows you.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, 'Excellent! That is a profitable property, that is a profitable property! I have heard what you said, and I think you should distribute it among your relatives.' Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted, 'I shall do so, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).' So he distributed it among his relatives and cousins. Rawh corroborated this narration with Abdullah bin Yusuf. Yahya bin Yahya and Isma'il narrated from Imam Malik (upon him be mercy) with the word 'ra'ih' instead of 'rabih.'

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ نے خبر دی، ان سے اسحاق بن عبداللہ بن ابی حضرت طلحہ نے، کہ انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ حضرت ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ مدینہ منورہ میں انصار میں سب سے زیادہ مالدار تھے اپنے کھجور کے باغات کی وجہ سے۔ اور اپنے باغات میں سب سے زیادہ پسند انہیں بیرحاء کا باغ تھا۔ یہ باغ مسجدِ نبوی شریف کے بالکل سامنے تھا۔ اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اس میں تشریف لے جایا کرتے اور اس کا میٹھا پانی نوش فرمایا کرتے تھے۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ جب یہ آیت نازل ہوئی «لن تنالوا البر حتى تنفقوا مما تحبون» یعنی "تم نیکی کو اس وقت تک نہیں پا سکتے جب تک تم اپنی پیاری سے پیاری چیز نہ خرچ کرو۔" یہ سن کر حضرت ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بارگاہ میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ تبارک وتعالیٰ ارشاد فرماتا ہے کہ تم اس وقت تک نیکی کو نہیں پا سکتے جب تک تم اپنی پیاری سے پیاری چیز نہ خرچ کرو۔ اور مجھے بیرحاء کا باغ سب سے زیادہ پیارا ہے۔ اس لیے میں اسے اللہ تعالیٰ کے لیے خیرات کرتا ہوں۔ اس کی نیکی اور اس کے ذخیرۂ آخرت ہونے کا امیدوار ہوں۔ اللہ کے حکم سے جہاں آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مناسب سمجھیں اسے استعمال فرمائیں۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ یہ سن کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: خوب! یہ تو بڑا ہی آمدنی کا مال ہے، یہ تو بہت ہی نفع بخش ہے۔ اور جو بات تم نے کہی میں نے وہ سن لی۔ اور میں مناسب سمجھتا ہوں کہ تم اسے اپنے نزدیکی رشتہ داروں کو دے ڈالو۔ حضرت ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں ایسا ہی کروں گا۔ چنانچہ انہوں نے اسے اپنے رشتہ داروں اور چچا کے لڑکوں کو دے دیا۔ عبداللہ بن یوسف کے ساتھ اس روایت کی متابعت روح نے کی ہے۔ یحییٰ بن یحییٰ اور اسماعیل نے امام مالک رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ کے واسطہ سے «رابح» کے بجائے «رائح» نقل کیا ہے۔
