And by the same chain from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who stated: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah divided mercy into a hundred parts. He kept ninety-nine parts with Himself and sent down one part to the earth. From that one part comes all the compassion that creatures show to one another, until a mare lifts her hoof from her foal fearing that she might step on it." These hadiths narrated by Hammam from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) — many of them have been narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) through other routes, and some of them we do not know to be narrated from Abu Hurairah except through the hadith of Hammam from him.
