حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا كَمَا يَغْمِسُ أَحَدُكُمْ أُصْبُعَهُ فِي الْيَمِّ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا فَيَنْظُرُ بِمَا تَخْرُجُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ جَمَاعَةٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَاقْتَصَرْنَا عَلَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا كَمَا يَغْمِسُ أَحَدُكُمْ أُصْبُعَهُ فِي الْيَمِّ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا فَيَنْظُرُ بِمَا تَخْرُجُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ جَمَاعَةٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَاقْتَصَرْنَا عَلَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Kurayb narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, he said: Isma'il ibn Qays narrated to us from al-Mustawrid (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The worldly life compared to the Hereafter is nothing more than as if one of you were to dip his finger into the sea and then raise it — let him see what it comes back with.' This hadith — we do not know of anyone who narrates it from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) except al-Mustawrid. A group narrated it from Isma'il, but we limited ourselves to the hadith of Abu Mu'awiyah.
