Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us saying: Shu'bah narrated to us from Qatadah from Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mourned Zayd ibn Harithah, Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, and Abdullah ibn Rawahah. He said: 'Zayd took the banner and was struck. Then Ja'far took it and was struck. Then Abdullah ibn Rawahah took it and was struck,' and his eyes were flowing with tears.
