وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنِي شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ ؓ خَطِيبًا عَلَى مَنْبَرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ هَذَا شَهْرُ زَكَاتِكُمْ وَلَمْ يُسَمِّ لِيَ السَّائِبُ الشَّهْرَ وَلَمْ أَسْأَلْهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ فَلْيَقْضِ دَيْنَهُ حَتَّى تَخْلُصَ أَمْوَالُكُمْ فَتُؤَدُّوا مِنْهَا الزَّكَاةَ
انگریزی ترجمہ
And Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us... from al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid that he heard Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) giving a sermon on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: 'This is the month of your zakah' - and al-Sa'ib did not name the month to me nor did I ask him about it. He said: Uthman then said: 'Whoever among you has a debt, let him pay his debt so that your wealth may be cleared and you can pay the zakah from it.'
