وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا ابْنُ نُفَيْلٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ قَدِمَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِلْيَةٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّجَاشِيِّ أَهْدَاهَا لَهُ فِيهَا خَاتَمٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فِيهِ فَصٌّ حَبَشِيٌّ قَالَتْ فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِعُودٍ مُعْرِضًا عَنْهُ أَوْ بِبَعْضِ أَصَابِعِهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بِنْتِ ابْنَتِهِ زَيْنَبَ فَقَالَ تَحَلَّيْ هَذَا يَا بُنَيَّةِ

Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us: Abu Dawud narrated to us: Ibn Nufayl narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Salama narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq: Yahya ibn Abbad narrated to me from his father Abbad ibn Abdullah, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: Jewelry came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the Negus, who had sent it as a gift. Among it was a gold ring with an Abyssinian stone. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) picked it up with a stick, turning away from it, or with some of his fingers, then called Umama bint Abi al-As, the daughter of his daughter Zaynab, and said: 'Adorn yourself with this, O little daughter.'
