فِيمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْأَغَرِّ مَوْلَى جُهَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَيُبَيِّتُ الْقَوْمَ بِالنِّعْمَةِ ثُمَّ يصْبِحُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرٌ يَقُولُونَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ نَحْنُ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا ذَاكَ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ 6455 وَقَدْ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ لَا أَتَّهِمُ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ هَذَا الْمُصَلَّى مِنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ وَهُوَ يَسْتَسْقِي بِالنَّاسِ عَامَ الرَّمَادَةِ قَالَ فَدَعَا وَالنَّاسُ طَوِيلًا وَاسْتَسْقَى طَوِيلًا وَقَالَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَا عَبَّاسُ كَمْ بَقِيَ مِنْ نَوْءِ الثُّرَيَّا؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ ؓ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْعِلْمِ بِهَا يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهَا تَعْتَرِضُ بِالْأُفُقِ بَعْدَ وَقُوعِهَا سَبْعًا قَالَ فَوَاللهِ مَا مَضَتْ تِلْكَ السَّبْعُ حَتَّى أُغِيثَ النَّاسُ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ وَجْهُ الْجَمْعِ بَيْنَهُمَا مَا ذَكَرَهُ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Tahir the jurist narrated to us... from Abu Hurayrah who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'Indeed, Allah, Glorified and Exalted, bestows blessings upon a people during the night, then they wake up in the morning and most of them are ungrateful regarding it, saying: We were given rain by the star of so-and-so.' Muhammad ibn Ibrahim said: I narrated this hadith to Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib from Salman from Abu Hurayrah, and Sa'id said: 'We have already heard that from Abu Hurayrah.' And a trustworthy person told me that he witnessed Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) at this prayer ground performing the rain prayer (istisqa') for the people during the Year of Ashes (Ramadah). He supplicated and the people supplicated for a long time, and he performed istisqa' for a long time. Then he said to al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib: 'O Abbas, how much remains of the star-phase of al-Thurayya?' Al-Abbas replied: 'O Commander of the Faithful, the people of knowledge regarding it claim that it crosses the horizon for seven days after its setting.' He said: By Allah, those seven days had not passed before the people were relieved [with rain]. The Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The way to reconcile the two reports is what al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned.
