أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْصُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَابْصُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ وَقَالَ بِرِجْلِهِ كَانَ يَحُكُّهُ بِقَدَمِهِ وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ فَقَالَ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr informed us, they said: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Usayd ibn Asim narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn Hafs narrated to us from Sufyan from Mansur from Rib'i ibn Hirash from Tariq ibn Abdullah al-Muharibi who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: 'When you pray, do not spit in front of you, nor to your right. Spit to your left if it is clear, or under your foot.' And he said with his foot — he would rub it with his foot. Abu al-Ahwas narrated it from Mansur and said: 'or under his left foot.'
