أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهَا أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى ح وأنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِي أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَابِسِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَابِسِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قِيلَ لِعَائِشَةَ ؓ أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُؤْكَلَ لُحُومُ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ؟ قَالَتْ مَا نَهَى عَنْهُ إِلَّا مَرَّةً فِي عَامٍ جَاعَ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُطْعِمَ الْغَنِيُّ الْفَقِيرَ وَلَقَدْ كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ الْكُرَاعَ بَعْدَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ فَنَأْكُلُهُ فَقُلْتُ وَلِمَ تَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ فَضَحِكَتْ وَقَالَتْ مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ مِنْ خُبْزِ بُرٍّ مَأْدُومٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللهِ ﷻ

Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran informed us in Baghdad > Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Misri > Ibn Abi Maryam > al-Firyabi > Sufyan > Abd al-Rahman ibn Abis > my father > Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): He said: I asked her, 'Did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbid...' And through another chain: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abis ibn Rabi'ah > his father Abis ibn Rabi'ah, who said: It was said to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): 'Did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbid eating the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days?' She said: 'He only forbade it once, in a year when people were hungry, and he wanted the rich to feed the poor. And indeed, we used to take out the trotters after fifteen days and eat them.' I said: 'Why did you do that?' He said: She laughed and said: 'The family of Muhammad (peace be upon him) never ate their fill of wheat bread with condiment for three days until he met Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.'
