أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أنبأ يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ؓ قَالَ كُنَّا نَتَمَتَّعُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَذْبَحُ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Uthman Sa'id ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Abdan al-Naysaburi informed us, they said: Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Abdullah informed us, Ya'la ibn Ubayd informed us, Abd al-Malik narrated to us from Ata' from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: We used to perform tamattu' with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and slaughter a cow on behalf of seven people.
