أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِي أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ يَقُولُ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُمَرَ ؓ وَهُوَ يُقَلِّبُ يَدَهُ هَكَذَا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مَا لَكَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ؟ قَالَ عُوَيْمِلٌ لَنَا بِالْعِرَاقِ خَلَطَ فِي فَيْءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَثْمَانَ الْخَمْرِ وَأَثْمَانَ الْخَنَازِيرِ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَعَنَ اللهُ الْيَهُودَ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوهَا فَجَمَّلُوهَا فَبَاعُوهَا وَأَكَلُوا أَثْمَانَهَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ يَقُولُ لَا تَأْخُذُوا فِي جِزْيَتِهِمُ الْخَمْرَ وَالْخَنَازِيرَ وَلَكِنْ خَلُّوا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ بَيْعِهَا فَإِذَا بَاعُوهَا فَخُذُوا أَثْمَانَهَا فِي جِزْيَتِهِمْ

Abu al-Hasan 'Ali ibn Muhammad al-Muqri' informed us, al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Yusuf ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Bashshar narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from one who heard Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I entered upon 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was turning his hand like this. I said to him: "What is the matter, O Commander of the Faithful?" He said: "A worker of ours in Iraq mixed into the Muslims' spoils (fay') the price of wine and the price of pigs." Then he said: "Did you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'May Allah curse the Jews. The fats were forbidden to them — that they should eat them — but they melted them and sold them and consumed their price.'"
