أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ ثُرْمُلَةَ الْعِجْلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسًا مُعَاهَدَةً بِغَيْرِ حِلِّهَا فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ أَنْ يَشُمَّ رِيحَهَا

Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran the just in Baghdad informed us, Abu al-Hasan 'Ali ibn Muhammad al-Misri narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Abi Maryam narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Firyabi narrated to us, Sufyan al-Thawri narrated to us from Yunus ibn 'Ubayd, al-Hakam ibn al-A'raj narrated to me from al-Ash'ath ibn Thurmulah al-'Ijli, from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever kills a person under covenant without justification, Allah has forbidden Paradise to him — that he should even smell its fragrance."
