أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ فَرَجِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْخَبِيرِ بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ خَلَّادٍ وَهِيَ مُتَنَقِّبَةٌ تَسْأَلُ عَنِ ابْنٍ لَهَا وَهُوَ مَقْتُولٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جِئْتِ تَسْأَلِينَ عَنِ ابْنِكِ وَأَنْتِ مُنْتَقِِبَةٌ؟ فَقَالَتْ إِنْ أُرْزَأِ ابْنِي فَلَنْ أُرْزَأَ حَيَائِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ابْنُكِ لَهُ أَجْرُ شَهِيدَيْنِ قَالَتْ وَلِمَ ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ لِأَنَّهُ قَتَلَهُ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ

Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us > Muhammad ibn Bakr > Abu Dawud > Abd al-Rahman ibn Sallam > Hajjaj ibn Muhammad > Faraj ibn Fadalah > Abd al-Khabir ibn Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas > his father > his grandfather, who said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) called Umm Khallad, and she was veiled, asking about her son who had been killed. Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to her: "You come asking about your son while you are veiled?" She said: "If I have been deprived of my son, I will not be deprived of my modesty." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Your son has the reward of two martyrs." She asked: "And why is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Because the People of the Book killed him."
