أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَعُودُهُ فَرَأَى عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبَ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ مَا هَذَا الثَّوْبُ؟ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ وَمَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ الْإِسْتَبْرَقُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا كُرِهَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَتَكَبَّرُ فِيهِ قَالَ مَا هَذِهِ التَّصَاوِيرُ فِي الْكَانُونِ؟ فَقَالَ لَا جَرَمَ أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ أُحَرِّقُهَا بِالنَّارِ؟ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ قَالَ انْزِعُوا هَذَا الثَّوْبَ عَنِّي وَاقْطَعُوا رُءُوسَ هَذِهِ التَّصَاوِيرَ الَّتِي فِي الْكَانُونِ فَقَطَعَهَا
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Zakariyya bin Abi Ishaq al-Muzakki informed us... that al-Miswar bin Makhramah entered upon Abdullah bin Abbas to visit him while he was ill, and he saw on him a garment of silk brocade (istabraq). He said: O Abu Abbas, what is this garment? Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What about it? He said: It is silk brocade. He said: That is only disliked for one who wears it out of arrogance. He said: What are these images on the brazier? He said: Indeed, do you not see how I burn them with fire? When he left, he said: Remove this garment from me and cut off the heads of these images on the brazier. So they were cut off.
