يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُعْتِقُ عَنْ أَبِي وَقَدْ مَاتَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو نَصْرٍ الْعِرَاقِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ فَذَكَرَهُ مُرْسَلًا البيهقي ١٢٦٤١: عن

'O Messenger of Allah, shall I free a slave on behalf of my father who has died?' He said: 'Yes.' This was narrated by Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Hafiz through Abu Nasr al-'Iraqi, through Sufyan ibn Muhammad al-Jawhari, through Ali ibn al-Hasan, and he mentioned it as mursal.
