وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ كَمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ الْوَاسِطِيِّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ أَنَّ أَخَوَيْنِ اخْتَصَمَا إِلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ يَهُودِيٌّ وَمُسْلِمٌ فَوَرَّثَ الْمُسْلِمَ مِنْهُمَا وَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ مُعَاذًا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْإِسْلَامُ يَزِيدُ وَلَا يَنْقُصُ فَوَرَّثَ الْمُسْلِمَ وَإِنْ صَحَّ الْخَبَرُ فَتَأْوِيلُهُ غَيْرُ مَا ذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ إِنَّمَا أَرَادَ أَنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ فِي زِيَادَةٍ وَلَا يَنْقُصُ بِالرِّدَّةِ وَهَذَا رَجُلٌ مَجْهُولٌ فَهُوَ مُنْقَطِعٌ

Abd al-Warith ibn Sa'id also narrated it, as Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us: Abu Bakr ibn Dasah narrated to us: Abu Dawud narrated to us: Musaddad narrated to us: Abd al-Warith narrated from Amr ibn Abi Hakim al-Wasiti: Abdullah ibn Buraydah narrated to us that two brothers, one Jewish and one Muslim, disputed before Yahya ibn Ya'mar. He gave inheritance to the Muslim one, citing Abu al-Aswad's report from Mu'adh. If the report is authentic, its interpretation differs from what was intended - it means Islam is ever-increasing and does not diminish through apostasy. This narrator is unknown, making it disconnected.
