أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ فِينَا نَازِلًا فَخَرَجَ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَمَاتَ وَتَرَكَ ثَلَاثَمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ هَلْ تَرَكَ وَارِثًا أَوْ لِأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ عَلَيْهِ عَقْدُ وَلَاءٍ؟ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ لَهُ هَا هُنَا وَرَثَةٌ كَثِيرٌ فَجَعَلَ مَالَهُ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr informed us, they said: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us: Yahya ibn Abi Talib narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun informed us: Sufyan narrated from Qays ibn Muslim from Muhammad ibn al-Muntashir from Masruq who said: I came to Abdullah, meaning Ibn Mas'ud, and said: 'A man was living among us and went to the mountains where he died, leaving three hundred dirhams.' Abdullah said: 'Did he leave an heir, or does any of you have a bond of patronage over him?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'There are many heirs here.' So he placed his wealth in the public treasury.
