أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ ثنا مَنْصُورٌ وَسُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كَانَ عُمَرُ ؓ إِذَا سَلَكَ بِنَا طَرِيقًا وَجَدْنَاهُ سَهْلًا وَإِنَّهُ أُتِيَ فِي امْرَأَةٍ وَأَبَوَيْنِ فَجَعَلَ لِلْمَرْأَةِ الرُّبُعَ وَلِلْأُمِّ ثُلُثَ مَا بَقِيَ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَمَا بَقِيَ فَلِلْأَبِ

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Hasan informed us: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Saghani narrated to us: Rawh ibn Ubadah narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us: Mansur and Sulayman narrated from Ibrahim from Alqamah from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud who said: When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) took us down a path, we found it easy. He was approached regarding a woman and two parents. He gave the wife one-quarter and the mother one-third of the remainder. Sufyan ibn Uyaynah also narrated it from Mansur with the addition: And the remainder is for the father.
