حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَطْفَالِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ.

Yahya narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr, who said: Abu Salamah narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the children of the polytheists [who die before reaching maturity], and he said: 'Allah knows best what they would have done.'
