حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا أُهْلِكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ قَبْلَكُمْ أَوْ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِكَثْرَةِ اخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ وَكَثْرَةِ سُؤَالِهِمْ فَانْظُرُوا مَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَاتَّبِعُوهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَمَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَدَعُوهُ أَوْ ذَرُوهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Leave me as long as I leave you, for it was only the excessive disagreement with their prophets and excessive questioning that destroyed the People of the Book before you - or those before you. So whatever I command you, follow it as much as you are able, and whatever I forbid you, leave it - or abandon it."
