حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَلَا تُكَلِّفُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنْ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Beware of continuous fasting (wisal)" - he said this twice. They said: "But you practice continuous fasting, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "I am not like you in that regard. I spend the night and my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. So do not burden yourselves with deeds beyond your capacity."
