وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي يَدِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي.
انگریزی ترجمہ
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'By the One in Whose hand is Muhammad's soul, were it not that I would cause hardship to the believers, I would not stay behind from any expedition going out in the cause of Allah. But I cannot find the means to carry them, nor can they find the means to go on their own, and their souls would not be content to stay behind after me.'
