حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخَيْرِكُمْ قَالُوا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ خِيَارُكُمْ أَطْوَلُكُمْ أَعْمَارًا وَأَحْسَنُكُمْ أَعْمَالًا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ سَأَلْتُ أَبِي عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَسُهيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ فَقَالَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا ذَكَرَ الْعَلَاءَ إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ وَقَدَّمَ أَبَا صَالِحٍ عَلَى الْعَلَاءِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ibn Abi Adi told us, from Ibn Ishaq, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Shall I not inform you of the best among you?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "The best among you are those with the longest lives and the best deeds." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: I asked my father about al-Ala' ibn Abd al-Rahman from his father, and Suhayl from his father; he said: "I have not heard anyone mention al-Ala' except with good, but he preferred Abu Salih over al-Ala'."
