Abd al-Wahhab ibn Ata told us, and he said: Husayn al-Mu'allim told us, from Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: When Mecca was opened for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said, "Withhold your weapons," and he mentioned something similar to the hadith of Yahya and Yazid, and said in it: "Fulfill the alliances of the pre-Islamic era, for Islam has only increased them in strength, but do not form new alliances in Islam."
