حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ فِي شَهْرٍ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَطْلُبُ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى قَالَ اقْرَإِ الْقُرْآنَ فِي خَمْسَةِ أَيَّامٍ وَصُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ الشَّهْرِ قُلْتُ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَصُمْ أَحَبَّ الصَّوْمِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صَوْمِ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَيُفْطِرُ يَوْمًا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated from Amr ibn Dinar from Abu al-Abbas who narrated from Abdullah ibn Amr who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: "Read the Quran in a month." I said: "I am able to do more than that." I kept asking him until he said: "Read the Quran in five days. And fast three days of the month." I said: "I am able to do more than that." He said: "Then fast the most beloved fasting to Allah the Mighty and Majestic - the fast of Dawud (David), peace be upon him. He used to fast one day and break his fast one day."
