حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ يَعْنِي عُبَيْدَ بْنَ الْأَخْنَسِ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ كُنْتُ أَكْتُبُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَسْمَعُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُرِيدُ حِفْظَهُ فَنَهَتْنِي قُرَيْشٌ عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالُوا تَكْتُبُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْغَضَبِ وَالرِّضَا فَأَمْسَكْتُ حَتَّى ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ اكْتُبْ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا خَرَجَ مِنْهُ إِلَّا حَقٌّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Abu Malik - meaning Ubayd ibn al-Akhnas: al-Walid ibn Abdullah narrated to me from Yusuf ibn Mahak from Abdullah ibn Amr who said: "I used to write down everything I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), intending to memorize it. The Quraysh forbade me from doing so and said: 'You write, while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) speaks in both anger and contentment?' So I stopped until I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he said: 'Write! By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, nothing comes out from it except the truth.'"
