حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْنُ أُمَّةٌ أُمِّيُّونَ لَا نَحْسُبُ وَلَا نَكْتُبُ الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَقَبَضَ إِبْهَامَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hashim told us, Ishaq ibn Sa'id told us, from his father, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "We are an unlettered nation; we do not calculate nor do we write. The month is like this, and like this, and like this" - and he closed his thumb on the third time.
