حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ وَاسْمُهُ الَّذِي يُعْرَفُ بِهِ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ النَّحَّامِ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمَّاهُ صَالِحًا أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ اخْطُبْ عَلَيَّ ابْنَةَ صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لَهُ يَتَامَى وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُؤْثِرَنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فَانْطَلَقَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِلَى عَمِّهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ لِيَخْطُبَ فَانْطَلَقَ زَيْدٌ إِلَى صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَرْسَلَنِي إِلَيْكَ يَخْطُبُ ابْنَتَكَ فَقَالَ لِي يَتَامَى وَلَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُتْرِبَ لَحْمِي وَأَرْفَعَ لَحْمَكُمْ أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَنْكَحْتُهَا فُلَانًا وَكَانَ هَوَى أُمِّهَا إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ خَطَبَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ابْنَتِي فَأَنْكَحَهَا أَبُوهَا يَتِيمًا فِي حَجْرِهِ وَلَمْ يُؤَامِرْهَا فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ أَنْكَحْتَ ابْنَتَكَ وَلَمْ تُؤَامِرْهَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَشِيرُوا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ فِي أَنْفُسِهِنَّ وَهِيَ بِكْرٌ فَقَالَ صَالِحٌ فَإِنَّمَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا لِمَا يُصْدِقُهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَإِنَّ لَهُ فِي مَالِي مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَاهَا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yunus ibn Muhammad told us: Layth told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Ibrahim ibn Salih, whose name by which he was known was Nu'aym ibn al-Nahham, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had named him Salih, informed him, that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, "Propose marriage for me to the daughter of Salih." He said, "He has orphans, and he would not prefer us over them." So 'Abdullah went to his uncle Zayd ibn al-Khattab to make the proposal, and Zayd went to Salih and said, "'Abdullah ibn 'Umar has sent me to you to propose to your daughter." He said, "I have orphans, and I would not humble my own flesh to elevate yours; I call you to witness that I have married her to so-and-so." Now her mother's inclination had been toward 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, so she went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Prophet of Allah, 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar proposed to my daughter, but her father married her to an orphan under his guardianship without consulting her." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent for Salih and said, "Did you marry off your daughter without consulting her?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Consult women concerning themselves, even if she is a virgin." Salih said, "I only did this because of what Ibn 'Umar would have given her as a dower; he shall have from my wealth the equivalent of whatever he would have given her."
