حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِيَادٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نُعْمٍ أَوْ نُعَيْمٍ الْأَعْرَجِيِّ شَكَّ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ الْمُتْعَةِ وَأَنَا عِنْدَهُ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا كُنَّا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَانِينَ وَلَا مُسَافِحِينَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَيَكُونَنَّ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمَسِيحُ الدَّجَّالُ وَكَذَّابُونَ ثَلَاثُونَ أَوْ أَكْثَرُ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ أَخْبَرَنَا إِيَادٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ فِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ.

Abu al-Walid told us: 'Ubaydullah ibn Iyad ibn Laqit told us: Iyad told us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Nu'm or Nu'aym al-A'raji, Abu al-Walid being uncertain which, who said: A man asked Ibn 'Umar about mut'ah, the temporary marriage of women, while I was with him. He said, "By Allah, we were not fornicators nor promiscuous in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." Then he said, "By Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Before the Day of Resurrection there will surely appear the Messiah al-Dajjal and liars, thirty or more.'" Ja'far ibn Humayd told us: 'Ubaydullah ibn Iyad ibn Laqit told us: Iyad informed us, from 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raji, from Ibn 'Umar, without any doubt this time, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the like of it.
