حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ شِبْلٍ، وَغَيْرُهُ، قَالُوا وَلِيَ عُثْمَانُ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ وَكَانَتْ الْفِتْنَةُ خَمْسَ سِنِينَ.

Umayyah bin Shibl and others said: `Hadrat Uthman held the position of caliph for twelve years and the turmoil lasted for five years.
